I was contacted by United Housing Relief in February 2009 to utilize their services to secure a mortgage modification for a fee of $1,595. The gentleman said their services were 100% money back guaranteed. He also indicated that I had been pre-approved so they were sure that they could do this for me. I was sent a contract that spelled out their 100% money back guarantee. I sent them my money which was a hardship in itself. After about 6 weeks it was obvious that they were not able to secure an agreement that was beneficial to me. I checked with my mortgage servicer to make sure and their terms had not changed from the last set of figures coming from UHR. After several emails and leaving several telephone calls, I get no response back from them. Is this one of those rip-off companies that we are hearing so much about in the media? Am I a victim of this type of fraud? I need my money back that I gave to them in good faith. I would not advise anyone using this company at this point.
