We purchased carpeting from Great Carpet Company and had them install it. Within 24 months the carpet showed signs of buckling and bumps. The owner of the company said his company isn't responsible because he claims we only have a 12 month guarantee against workmanship (although we have nothing in writing stating this.) We contacted the carpet factory and spoke to a claims analysis representative and he said this carpet should not buckle especially in such a short time. He claimed the carpet is not to blame but the installer and that we should re-contact him. We had an outside installer come see the carpet and he claims that the carpet wasn't installed properly in the first place. It should have been stretched more with a power stretcher. We contracted to have him re-do the job and contacted Great Carpet for adjustment to the carpet price to cover this additional cost. The owner said he had enough of this job and hung up on us.
