I took my dog here about a month ago for a hematoma on her ear flap, and I was quoted $700-$850 for the surgery. I was told that she definitely needed the surgery to get rid of it. I want to add that I was also given this quote without the Head Veterinarian even coming into the room to check my dog. The assistant said that he saw it as he was passing and he said that he could fix it with surgery. I asked if there were any other options and I was told that they probably wouldn't work.
I decided to get another quote since this was quite a bit of money for my family. I took my lab to another vet here in Albuquerque, and they were much more professional all the way around. This vet actually came into the room and explained that there were 3 different avenues we could try, but that he recommended trying some medicine first. Well, what do you know, it worked a 100%. My total bill was a little over $50.00, and my dog is doing great. This really makes me wonder about this companies ethics.
I hope this helps somebody in making a decision on where to bring their pet in Albuquerque.
