Review 4/22/2011
In my experience, I feel the reviews posted for Coast 2 Coast Tax Relief are not accurate. They're most likely generated by the company themselves to get more business. In my personal experience with C2C; they have not met my expectations at all.
ALSO- READ VERY CAREFULLY THESE OTHER REVIEWS-NO ONE SAYS THAT C2C SETTLED WITH THE IRS FOR LESS THAN OWED- JUST THAT THEY SET THEM UP WITH REPAYMENT PLANS ...
I have been assigned at least 3 different representatives (they all left- high job turnover rate?); all of which seemingly have no communication skills. No one returned phone calls or emails to check on case progression.

This is problematic: not only does it show a lack of professionalism; but this is peoples livelihood we're talking about if they owe any substancial $$$ to the IRS. Open communication not only gives peace of mind that your situation is being handled properly; but assures you that you're not just another number. Not so with Coast2C.

Coast 2 Coast took our money right up front with no outline of expectations or timeline of estimated case progression. They failed to educate us about the process & possible outcomes.

******There are a few things we've learned that may prove very helpful.
FIRSTLY, there is NO SUCH THING as "settling" with the IRS. TV commercials & ads are bogus hooks to get your $$$. You will pay -it is possible to amend taxes to pay less- but you will pay. C2C didn't make us aware of this until late in the game. There are only (2) options with the IRS: a repayment plan or an "Offer in Compromise". An OIC is ONLY for people who can PROVE that they are too poor to EVER repay the owed tax. The IRS will investigate all your assets (even the family car & your IRA) and tell you that you can sell those things to make repayment.
SECONDLY, the term "resolution" is used way too loosely with C2C. It is not the commonly defined term {to solve an issue} but is Coast 2 Coasts own terminology for "IRS Repayment Plan". Shocking. This was not defined clearly for us until about 6months into our case...
Coast 2 Coast also told us not to speak with the IRS or it would jeopardize our case.(& they could refuse to represent us & keep our $$$ of course)
This is not entirely true. This is the US Government we're talking about here. They will get their money,...but they are also more willing to work with the taxpayer than people may think to get it.

Conclusion- I would NEVER recommend C2C Tax Relief; and prob not any other tax "lawyers" either unless you are in massive debt. I only owe $10,000 to the IRS....and have already paid Coast 2 Coast $4000. And they want extra for any & all services rendered. The inital lump sum is only a retainer for services- everything else is extra. That was NOT clearly explained either. Save your money & repay as you can. Hope my bad experience helps others.
