I am very disappointed with the customer service I received from The Car Clinic in Hesperia, Ca.
In Nov 2006 this company put a new clutch in my mother's car (she is 75yrs old and lives on her own) She has been very trusting of this company to perform all of her car repairs and has spent over $2,000.00 having repairs done at the Car Clinic. In December 06 I bought my mother's car from her which had all the work done at Car Clinic. In July 07, the clutch that the Car Clinic put in needed to be replaced. I called to speak with the manager, Tim Hampton, but he was not available. I went in to the shop on a different date in July and spoke with a mechanic about any warranties that might be available for the clutch they had put in. I was told that labor costs were only warranteed for 4 months, and any other decision would have to be made by the manager (not available that day). I wanted to have some sort of guarantee before I spent extra money to tow the car in for them to do the work, when I had a mechanic I trusted to do the work if there would be no warranty. I called in August 2-3 times to follow up with the manager, not available, no call back to me. The mechanic told me I could bring the clutch in to the shop and they could see what kind of refund they could get from the manufacturer. September, I called 2 times, manager not available, no call back. In October, I finally had the work done by my own mechanic and made 2 phone calls to speak with the Car Clinic Manager, left messages for him. I did receive a call back from Tim Hampton, manager of Car Clinic who stated he had not received any of my messages since July and did not know if he would be able to help me with any type of warranty for the clutch. After a couple of weeks of phone calls and visits back and forth, Oct 26th, Tim called and told me he could refund to me the cost of the clutch parts, he stated he was able to refund approx $130.00 (the cost of the cluch repair in Nov 06 was $786.48) And he would give a store credit to my mother (who had repairs done at his shop) for approx $150.00. Today is Nov 2,2007 and I still have not received the refund promised to me on 10/26/07. I am very disappointed in the lack of response and poor customer service I've received from the Car Clinic. I will be notifying the owner of the shop "Bud Guinn" and sharing my disappointment. I would like to write a letter to the editor of the local newspaper and warn the community of such a place of business where the customer apparently does not come first, or second or third for that matter. I would not recommend this company to any one, in fact, I fear my 75yr old mother was taken advantage of at the Car Clinic.
