It is unfortunate that the lowest rating is a 1 star....
We contracted with Budget Blinds in November 2008 to provide blinds throughout the house, window treatments in our kitchen and shutters for our dining room and living room. We were promised by the owner, Don, that everything would be in by end of December, middle of January "at the absolute latest". Well, we did not have everything installed correctly until mid-August 2009.
We had multiple problems with the installer installing defective product (scratched shutters/shutters with uneven stain, window treatments that had been damaged in transit) that had to be swapped out, including the shutters which had to be re-ordered three times before they were installed correctly. The installer drilled into the walls to hang window treatments without first measuring the length of the curtains. We have to re-paint our master bedroom to correct his error -- something we did not plan on doing since the room was re-painted just before we moved in.
Throughout the process Don repeatedly said that he would "make things right" for the delay, errors, etc. by providing us a credit when the shutters were finally installed (we had paid the remaining 1/2 balance due when they came to initially install the shutters based upon promise that things would be rectified quickly). When we asked Don about the refund in mid-August, he chastised us saying we should just be happy with our product, the product looks great and that the delay, frustration, missed work and repeated wasted Saturdays because of his company's awful service basically were not that big of a deal.
If you want to spend lots of time and frustration in order to get what you paid for -- and don't mind dealing with people who don't honor their word or know the meaning of customer service -- then by all means, do business with this location. Otherwise, you are best served to look elsewhere.
