When I did some research I emailed them questions like why am I paying upfront fees they got all defensive. I quoted the information from the BBB "Effective October, 2009 in California, it is illegal to collect any upfront fees, regardless of the form, for negotiating or attempting to negotiate a loan modification for a residential mortgage. All modification services must be fully completed before any money can be collected. It is also illegal to divide fees or services into components for the purpose of avoiding this law. " They told me the BBB was a joke and the rating of a C- was because they did not pay for the BBB certification. Right after he told me they were not on the BBB. I called the BBB and they found them through their address since the name was different. They claim to have a A+ rating on their site and really brag it up. Question? Why would you brag it up a BBB rating if they are a joke. I got no reply.
When I called the rep he asked me if I wanted to do it. I asked if he had an answer to my question. He asked me to hold a second and forwarded me to a manager that was slick. He had all kinds if info to try to discredit the BBB, and made some line on we will help you for half the cost of going to lawyer to get help. They claimed that they are a reputable company and in order for them to run Ad's on the radio they had to be watched for 6 months. During the 6 months they could not have any trouble or they would not let them advertise. When I told him I think I will try to find someone in my state to work with. He hung up with out me finishing my statement.
I sent them an E-mail about the question for the BBB and upfront fees and my reply was "Do you still want to do it or lose your home.
