You can check out to see if a company is state and federally licensed at www.mld.nv.gov They keep a list available of companies that can help you. I have a friend using them here locally in Vegas and so far it is going well. I post an update when they get it completed. I found the site @ www.the-macgroup.com as well. Let me know what you do as i am also looking to get a mod done.

The Mac Group is definitely a reputable company and I recommend it to anyone trying to get a loan modification. They are fully licensed and it can be verified at mld.nv.gov. If you would like to know more about them let me know :)

The MAC-Group has a BBB complaint about them. I would check that out at the BBB web site. Also, it is always a good idea to a HUD approved company or agency, so check with your local HUD office to see if the MAC Group is approved. It also appears that the MAC group has only been in business since October 2009... Google them and you will find a lot of info.

I am in Nevada. I was contacted by The Mac Group (TMG) via phone back in March 2010. They would do a loan mod for $2995.00
After paying TMG $1500.00 (a mortgage payment), they claimed that they were working on the loan mod directly with Cenlar. Every attempt I made to verify this claim with Cenlar failed. Meaning: Cenlar informed me they had no record of any contact by TMG or any third party regarding my loan.
TMG continued to claim they were in ongoing discussion with Cenlar, Cenlar continued to claim there was no record of it. This went on until Cenlar transfered the loan to Ocwen.
At this point, TMG claimed to be still working with Cenlar. TMG even informed me that Cenlar requested information from me, even after the transfer was complete.
When I informed them that the loan had been transfered to Ocwen, they were a bit shocked. Shocked as they were, they still wanted another $1500.00 to complete the loan mod!
I signed a contract with TMG and now they are threatening to place a lien on my property.

I wouldn't trust this company. Their staff is inexperienced and have no idea what they are doing. They have complaints with the BBB and the MLD, they are performing business outside of the state of Nevada without any type of license. Their staff consists of about 25-30 people and only 8 of them are fully licensed with the MLD. They have wage claim filed with the Nevada Labor Commissioner from previous employees. They have complaints from the state of Hawaii, Florida, California and Nevada, you should check those out. If you are thinking about trusting them with your home, I would recommend you to call your local county offices to see if they are licensed in your state. I would also try calling the BBB.

Have you checked the BBB ratings? They have complaints. I would be weary for this reason alone. However, they do have some good reviews on http://www.loanmodificationlasvegas.com . BBB is still more credible though.
