I leased my second vehicle from Hyundai. The first was no issue. I was allowed to turn it in early, even before all payments had been made. They did not charge me a dime......because I leased another vehicle from them. The end of the second lease was awful. I made all of my payments on time and paid ahead. I called Hyundai Motor Finance to see what was the earliest I could turn the car in without penalty. I was told 120 days. I ended up returning it about 90 days early. It was in show room condition and well under miles. Two months later I get a bill for 635.00. I knew they would charge a disposition fee of $400.00 because it is disclosed in the orig lease document. However, the other $235 was not clearly disclosed anywhere in fact the bill itself was so confusing, I couldn’t tell what it was for. I called and was told that it was to cover damages. WHAT?? The car I turned in had no damage. They said it did, and were very specific about it and said they had photos. I filed a complaint with the Consumer Protectiob Bureau. In their response, they now claim that the fee is for early termination. I have refused to pay it out of principle. However, they are reporting to credit bureaus as late payments. They have plunged my credit score from over700 to low 600’s. Now I’m bullied into paying it in order to try and preserve my credit rating. Paying for air!!! I will never do business with Hyundai again, and I’m telling everyone I know about this, and filing complaints on every forum that I can.
