AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!!
I was searching online last month for setting up credit monitoring for Equifax DIRECTLY and somehow got on this site. I was thinking that this was their site but in fact it was a different one. They charge $10/mo more, and when i realized i immediately
attempted to cancel by clicking the button that clearly says, CLICK TO CANCEL...but nope, you still have to call. After 3 attempts and being on hold forEVER...i gave up. Finally got lucky and got through after 5 min on hold. BEWARE and i shouldve read the
blogs!! They ALWAYS take forever answering their calls and everyone got tricked!! Go direct to the credit agencies, they are cheaper and updates are very quick! $50 later...EXPENSIVE MISTAKE

We have reviewed this account. The member did an internet search for www.equifax.com. When internet searches are done, many options appear in the results page (We do not control these results or the order in which they appear). In order for this person to become a member she would have had to click on our site link from the results page and gone through the 3 page sign up process. SmartCredit would have been displayed on each page of sign up process and she would have received a welcome email from SmartCredit. After she signed up, she continued into the account and entered her ssn, dob and answer a set of security questions from TransUnion. All of the information would have said SmartCredit on it. In regards to hold time, we have a maximum hold time setting of 15 minutes. After that time, members are directed to our voicemail. We are one of the few companies that have voicemail for the convenience of the member. If they do not wish to hold up to 15 minutes (on the day she called we had a average hold time of 2 minutes and 32 seconds. Normal hold time is under 5 minutes on average), they can simple press 1 to skip straight to the voicemail and leave a message. We announce this 4 different times during the hold music. We returned all calls within 24 business hours. We do not trick anyone into signing up with SmartCredit. This was a choice by the member. We hundreds of thousands of members and very few complaints. We understand that at times complaints will happen and we work to the best of our ability to resolve these matters directly with the member. If this member has any other items she would like to discuss, she can always email the customer service manager directly at supervisor@smartcredit.com.
